About the Beach
Skalia Beach is a small, tranquil cove situated on the northwestern coast of Kalymnos, just below the traditional village of Skalia. The beach is a mix of sand and fine pebbles, offering a more peaceful and uncrowded alternative to the busier spots further south. Its waters are remarkably clear and calm, reflecting the deep blue of the Aegean and providing an excellent environment for snorkeling along the rocky edges of the bay. Because the village of Skalia is perched amphitheatrically on the hillside above, the beach offers a beautiful perspective of the local architecture and a direct view across the water to the islet of Kalavros. It is an ideal destination for those who appreciate a quiet, authentic setting and serves as a convenient cooling-off spot for climbers visiting the world-class limestone crags that surround the area.
