About the Beach
Tholos Beach is a wide beach with a mix of sand and pebbles located at the end of a valley filled with old olive trees on the north coast of Crete that has a very interesting history. It is a very quiet spot where the water is a pretty green color, and you can see the ruins of an ancient Roman warehouse standing right by the water which shows that people have been using this spot for thousands of years to move goods across the sea. Since it is not in a big town, it feels very calm and natural, and it is a good place to go if you want to find a lot of space to run around and explore the rocky edges of the coast without being surrounded by hundreds of other people.
