About the Beach

Tzamaria is a small and very charming beach located within walking distance of the Ios port, yet it feels surprisingly quiet. It is a sandy cove protected from the winds, featuring very clear and shallow water that is perfect for snorkeling. Because it is nestled below the main road, it feels like a tucked-away secret where you can avoid the larger crowds of the more famous beaches. There are a few trees along the back that provide some natural shade, and the entry into the sea is very easy and smooth. It is an excellent choice for a quick morning swim or for those who don’t want to travel far from their accommodation. The view across the harbor toward the sunset is one of the best on this side of the island.
