About the Beach

Valmas is a small and rocky beach located a short walk south of the Ios port, accessible by a scenic coastal path. It is a very quiet spot that is mostly visited by hikers and those looking for a peaceful environment close to town. The water is deep and full of interesting rock formations, making it one of the best places on the island for snorkeling. There is a small traditional taverna right above the beach where you can enjoy local dishes with a view of the bay. The shore is a mix of pebbles and sand, and the surrounding landscape is rugged and typical of the Cyclades. It is a great destination for a low-key afternoon where you can combine a short hike with a long, quiet swim in clear water.
