Vathia Lagada is a remote and stunning beach located in a deep, narrow bay on the eastern coast of Ios. The name means "deep valley," which perfectly describes the dramatic landscape of steep cliffs that surround the water. The beach is a mix of sand and pebbles, and the water is an electric turquoise color that looks like a swimming pool. Most people arrive by boat, as the hike down is long and demanding. Because of its sheltered position, the water is almost always flat and calm, providing a very safe and relaxing swimming environment.
