About the Beach

Xerokambos is a rugged and very quiet swimming area located on the eastern side of the island, offering a raw experience far from the colorful harbor. Like most of Kastellorizo, there is no traditional sand, but rather a series of flat rocks and steep entries that lead into incredibly deep and dark blue water. The clarity here is exceptional, allowing you to see deep into the underwater canyons that drop off the island’s edge. It is a very peaceful spot where the only sound is the water hitting the limestone rocks. There are no facilities or shade, so it feels entirely wild and undisturbed. It is an ideal destination for strong swimmers who want to experience the powerful and deep character of the Mediterranean. The sense of isolation is total, providing a perfect sanctuary for those who want to feel alone with the sea in a dramatic, rocky environment.
