Getting from Paros to Aegina

If you are heading to Aegina from Paros you are making your way from the Cyclades to the closest of the Saronic islands to Athens, a working island with a handsome harbour town and the remarkably preserved Temple of Aphaia on a pine-covered hill above the sea.

 

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Paros to Aegina. Getting there means taking the ferry from Paros to Piraeus and then connecting onto the Saronic ferry from Piraeus to Aegina, which takes around 40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes with around 20 daily departures.

 

Getting there by air

Aegina has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Flying from Paros to Athens takes around 45 minutes and then the Saronic ferry from Piraeus to Aegina takes around 40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes. Total travel time is around 3 to 4 hours.

 

Your best option

Fly to Athens and take the Saronic ferry from Piraeus to Aegina. With around 20 daily departures the connection is one of the most effortless in Greece and you rarely need to book in advance.
