Getting from Paros to Karpathos

If you are heading to Karpathos from Paros you are making your way to one of the most rugged islands in the Dodecanese, a long mountainous island of dramatic landscapes and a strong local culture, with the extraordinary village of Olympos in the north where centuries-old customs are still very much alive.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Paros to Karpathos. An indirect connection exists via Piraeus and the long Dodecanese route but the total journey by sea takes the better part of two days and is not a realistic option. Flying is the only practical choice.

Getting there by air

Both Paros and Karpathos have airports. Flying from Paros to Athens takes around 45 minutes and then Athens to Karpathos takes around 1 hour. Total travel time is around 3 to 4 hours.

Your best option

Fly via Athens. It is the only realistic approach and at around 3 to 4 hours total it is one of the more straightforward Dodecanese connections from Paros.
