Getting from Paros to Kalymnos
If you are heading to Kalymnos from Paros you are making your way from the hub of the Cyclades to one of the most characterful islands in the Dodecanese, famous for its sponge diving tradition and its status as one of the premier rock climbing destinations in Europe.
Take the ferry
There is a direct ferry from Paros to Kalymnos running several times a week year-round, taking around 7 to 9 hours depending on the vessel and the stops along the way. It is a long trip but a genuine Aegean journey, crossing from the Cyclades into the Dodecanese in one shot. Check the schedule before planning around it as the frequency is limited and your travel dates need to align with the departure days.
Getting there by air
Both Paros and Kalymnos have airports. There are no direct flights between the two islands. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights. All connections go via Athens, which adds significant time compared to the direct ferry.
Your best option
Take the direct ferry if the schedule works for your dates. At 7 to 9 hours it is a long trip but it connects the two island groups without going through Athens and is a good way to travel if you are island hopping. If the timing does not work, fly via Athens, though the total journey time by air is comparable once you factor in transfers.
