Getting from Paros to Leros
If you are heading to Leros from Paros you are making your way to one of the most atmospheric islands in the Dodecanese, with a striking Art Deco Italian colonial port at Lakki and a medieval castle above the main town of Platanos.
Take the ferry
There is a direct seasonal ferry from Paros to Leros running in summer, taking around 6 to 8 hours depending on the vessel and the stops along the way. The route is not year-round so check the schedule before planning around it. Outside of the summer season the connection goes via Piraeus.
Getting there by air
Leros has its own small airport with connections from Athens. Flying from Paros to Athens takes around 45 minutes and then Athens to Leros takes around 50 minutes. Total travel time is around 3 to 4 hours.
Your best option
Fly via Athens if time matters. At around 3 to 4 hours total it is considerably faster than the seasonal ferry. If the ferry timing works perfectly for your schedule and you want the sea journey it is a good option, but flying is the right choice for most people.
