Getting from Paros to Kalamata

If you are heading to Kalamata from Paros you are making your way to the capital of Messenia in the southern Peloponnese, a city with a renovated waterfront, good food and easy access to the Mani peninsula and the Byzantine ruins of Mystras.

 

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Paros to Kalamata. Getting there by sea means taking the ferry from Paros to Piraeus and then travelling by road south through the Peloponnese, which takes around 3 to 3.5 hours from Athens.

 

Getting there by air

Both Paros and Kalamata have airports. Flying from Paros to Athens takes around 45 minutes and then Athens to Kalamata takes around 50 minutes. Total travel time is around 3 to 4 hours.

 

Your best option

Fly via Athens. It is the fastest and most practical approach. If you are travelling with a car, fly to Athens and drive to Kalamata, which takes around 3 to 3.5 hours via the E65 motorway through Corinth and Tripoli.
