Getting from Rhodes to Halki

If you are heading to Halki from Rhodes you are making a short trip to a neighbouring island just to the west.

Take the ferry

There is a direct ferry from Rhodes to Halki running several times a week year-round, taking around 1.5 to 2 hours. Local day boats also run to Halki in summer. It is one of the most straightforward connections in the Dodecanese and the most practical way to make this journey.

Getting there by air

Halki has no airport. The ferry from Rhodes is the only option and at under 2 hours it is a short and easy trip.

Your best option

Take the ferry from Rhodes. It is direct, manageable and the arrival into the neoclassical harbour at Emborios is one of the finest in the Dodecanese. Give yourself at least two nights on Halki. The island is small enough to walk around and tranquil enough to make you want to stay much longer.
