Getting from Rhodes to Karpathos
If you are heading to Karpathos from Rhodes you are making your way to a neighbouring island to the northwest.
Take the ferry
There is a direct ferry from Rhodes to Karpathos running several times a week year-round, taking around 3 to 4 hours. It is one of the most straightforward connections in the southern Dodecanese and the most practical way to make this journey. Check the schedule before planning around it as the frequency is limited.
Getting there by air
Both Rhodes and Karpathos have airports. There are no direct flights between the two islands. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights. All connections go via Athens, which adds significant time compared to the direct ferry.
Your best option
Take the direct ferry from Rhodes. At 3 to 4 hours it is a manageable trip and avoids going through Athens entirely. If the ferry timing does not work for your dates, fly via Athens.
