Getting from Rhodes to Anafi
If you are heading to Anafi from Rhodes you are making your way to one of the most remote islands in the Cyclades, to the northwest. It has a monolithic rock rising 460 metres from the sea and almost no tourist infrastructure.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Rhodes to Anafi. Getting there means taking the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus and then connecting via Santorini, with the ferry from Santorini to Anafi taking around 1 hour 15 minutes. Alternatively fly to Santorini via Athens and take the short ferry across.
Getting there by air
Anafi has no airport. The nearest airport is Santorini. Flying from Rhodes to Athens takes around 1 hour and then Athens to Santorini takes around 45 minutes, followed by the short ferry to Anafi taking around 1 hour 15 minutes. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Fly to Santorini via Athens and take the ferry across to Anafi. It is the most practical approach. If you are travelling with a car, the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus is the practical choice, then take the ferry from Piraeus to Santorini and connect to Anafi from there.
