Getting from Rhodes to Milos
If you are heading to Milos from Rhodes you are making your way to an island in the western Cyclades, to the northwest. It is volcanic with a coastline of white and ochre rock formations and beaches of coloured minerals that look like nowhere else in the Aegean.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Rhodes to Milos. Getting there means taking the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus and then connecting onto the Milos service, which takes around 3 to 5 hours from Piraeus. Flying is the more practical approach for most travellers.
Getting there by air
Both Rhodes and Milos have airports. Flying from Rhodes to Athens takes around 1 hour and then Athens to Milos takes around 45 minutes. Total travel time is around 3 to 4 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Fly to Milos via Athens. It is the most practical approach. If you are travelling with a car, the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus is the practical choice, then take the ferry from Piraeus to Milos.
