Getting from Rhodes to Amorgos
If you are heading to Amorgos from Rhodes you are making your way to the most eastern of the Cyclades, to the northwest. It is a long narrow island of dramatic cliffs, deep blue water and the extraordinary Monastery of Panagia Hozoviotissa built into the cliff face above the sea.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Rhodes to Amorgos. Getting there means taking the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus and then connecting onto the Amorgos service, which takes around 6 to 8 hours from Piraeus.
Getting there by air
Amorgos has no airport. The nearest airport is Naxos, which has connections from Athens. Flying from Rhodes to Athens takes around 1 hour and then Athens to Naxos takes around 45 minutes, followed by the ferry to Amorgos taking around 2 to 3 hours. Total travel time is around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Fly to Naxos via Athens and take the ferry across to Amorgos. It is the most practical approach. If you are travelling with a car, the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus is the practical choice, then take the ferry from Piraeus to Amorgos.
