Getting from Rhodes to Sikinos
If you are heading to Sikinos from Rhodes you are making your way to one of the lesser talked about islands in the Cyclades, to the northwest. It has a Chora perched on a ridge above the port and an atmosphere of genuine calm.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Rhodes to Sikinos. Getting there means taking the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus and then connecting onto the Cyclades network, or flying via Athens and taking the ferry from Piraeus or Santorini to Sikinos.
Getting there by air
Sikinos has no airport. The nearest airport is Santorini. Flying from Rhodes to Athens takes around 1 hour and then Athens to Santorini takes around 45 minutes, followed by the short ferry to Sikinos taking around 1 hour 30 minutes. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Fly to Santorini via Athens and take the ferry across to Sikinos. It is the most practical approach. If you are travelling with a car, the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus is the practical choice, then take the ferry from Piraeus to Sikinos.
