Getting from Rhodes to Sifnos
If you are heading to Sifnos from Rhodes you are making your way to an island in the western Cyclades, to the northwest. It is known above all for its food, a tradition of pottery and cooking that has made it one of the most regarded gastronomic destinations in the Aegean.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Rhodes to Sifnos. Getting there means taking the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus and then connecting onto the Sifnos service, which takes around 3 hours on the fast boat from Piraeus.
Getting there by air
Sifnos has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Flying from Rhodes to Athens takes around 1 hour and then the ferry from Piraeus to Sifnos takes around 3 hours on the fast service. Total travel time is around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Fly to Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus to Sifnos. It is the most practical approach. If you are travelling with a car, the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus is the practical choice, then take the ferry from Piraeus to Sifnos.
