About the Beach
Anthidona Beach is a very interesting and historic place located near the ancient harbor of Anthidona, where you can still see the remains of ancient buildings and stone walls sitting right at the edge of the water or even hidden just beneath the waves. The beach is a mix of sand and pebbles and the water is very clear, making it a great place to bring a mask and snorkel so you can swim over the ruins and feel like an underwater archaeologist exploring a lost city. It is a very quiet and rugged spot surrounded by low hills and wild plants, and because it is a bit off the main path, it feels very peaceful and untouched by modern life. It is the perfect place to go if you want to combine a day of swimming in the warm Mediterranean sea with a bit of a history lesson while you look at the stones that were placed there thousands of years ago.
