About the Beach

Eretria Beach is a very popular and historical sandy beach located right in the middle of one of the most famous ancient cities on the island of Evia. The water here is very shallow and calm because it is located on the southern gulf, which makes it a favorite spot for families with young children who can play safely in the warm sea all day long. The beach is lined with a very long and busy promenade full of palm trees, cafes, and restaurants, and there is even a small bridge that connects the mainland to a tiny island called the "Island of Dreams" right across from the harbor. It is a very social and exciting place where you can combine a day of swimming with a walk through the ancient ruins of the city, and the view of the sunset over the mountains of the mainland across the water is truly spectacular.
