About the Beach

Liani Ammos Beach is a very unique and shallow sandy beach located right at the edge of the city of Chalkida, and it is famous for the fact that you can walk out for a very long distance and the water will still only reach your ankles. Because the water is so shallow and the ground is made of soft sand, it is a favorite place for families with small children who can play safely in the warm water without any deep holes or big waves to worry about. The name of the beach actually means "Thin Sand," and it is located in a spot where you can see the big bridge of Chalkida and the unique movement of the water as the tides change every six hours. It is a very easy and convenient place to visit if you are staying in the city and want to feel the sand between your toes and enjoy a quiet swim without having to drive far away into the mountains.
