About the Beach

Fykio Beach is a hidden and very special little cove on the island of Donoussa that is tucked away behind big rocky cliffs that have secret caves carved into them by the ocean. The beach is quite small and sandy and the water is a brilliant light blue color that is perfect for snorkeling because the rocks around the edges are full of colorful fish and interesting sea plants. You can only get to this beach by taking a small boat from the main harbor or by hiking along a long and rocky path through the hills, so it is a very private place where you can often be the only person on the sand. Because it is so sheltered by the rocks, it feels very cozy and safe, and it is a great spot to bring a mask and fins to explore the underwater world or just sit in the sun and listen to the water echoing inside the caves along the shoreline for hours at a time.
