About the Beach
Trypiti Beach is a small and very rugged little cove on the island of Donoussa that gets its name from a large hole or "tripa" in the rocks that looks like a natural stone bridge over the water. The beach is made of pebbles and some sand, and the water is a brilliant emerald green color that is very deep and perfect for people who love to dive and explore underwater caves. To get there, you have to follow a narrow and rocky path that winds through the dry hills, so it feels like a secret discovery when you finally see the bright blue water appearing between the cliffs. There are no shops or umbrellas here, just the wild nature and the sound of the wind, making it a fantastic spot for snorkeling around the rock formations to see the schools of fish that hide in the shadows of the stone arch while the sun shines brightly on the sea.
