About the Beach

Chalkida Beach is not a typical swimming beach but is actually the famous urban waterfront and promenade of the city where the land meets the narrow Euripus Strait. This is the place where you can see the "crazy waters" of Chalkida, which is a natural phenomenon where the sea current changes direction every few hours, moving first to the north and then to the south in a very powerful and mysterious way.
