Getting from Paros to Kavala
If you are heading to Kavala from Paros you are making your way from the heart of the Cyclades to one of the most beautiful port cities in northern Greece, with a Byzantine castle above the harbour, a Roman aqueduct running through the upper town and the archaeological site of Philippi just 15 kilometres inland.
Take the ferry
There is no direct ferry from Paros to Kavala. An indirect connection exists via the northern Aegean ferry network but the total journey takes the better part of two days and is not a realistic option. Flying is the only practical choice.
Getting there by air
Both Paros and Kavala have airports. There are no direct flights between the two. All connections go via Athens. Flying from Paros to Athens takes around 45 minutes and then Athens to Kavala takes around 1 hour 15 minutes, giving a total journey time of around 3 to 4 hours.
Your best option
Fly via Athens. It is the only realistic approach. If you are planning to visit Thassos from Kavala, the ferry from Kavala port to Thassos runs almost hourly in summer and the trip takes around 1 hour 20 minutes.
