Getting from Paros to Lavrio

If you are heading to Lavrio from Paros you are making your way to the port closest to Athens Airport on the southeastern tip of Attica, the departure point for ferries to Kea, Kythnos and several other Cycladic islands.

Take the ferry

There is a direct seasonal ferry from Paros to Lavrio running in summer, taking around 3 to 4 hours. The route is not year-round so check the schedule before planning around it. Outside of the summer season the connection goes via Piraeus.

Getting there by air

Lavrio has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens International, around 35 kilometres to the northwest. Flying from Paros to Athens takes around 45 minutes and then a taxi or bus to Lavrio takes around 30 to 40 minutes from the airport. Total travel time is around 2 to 3 hours.

Your best option

Fly to Athens and take a taxi or bus to Lavrio from the airport. It is faster than the seasonal ferry and the proximity of Lavrio to Athens Airport makes the connection straightforward. If the direct summer ferry works for your dates and you are not in a hurry it is a good alternative.
