Getting from Rhodes to Serifos

If you are heading to Serifos from Rhodes you are making your way to an island in the western Cyclades, to the northwest. It has a Chora that climbs a steep hill above the port in a way that looks almost impossibly dramatic from the water.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Rhodes to Serifos. Getting there means taking the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus and then connecting onto the Serifos service, which takes around 3 hours on the fast boat from Piraeus.

Getting there by air

Serifos has no airport. The nearest airport is Athens. Flying from Rhodes to Athens takes around 1 hour and then the ferry from Piraeus to Serifos takes around 3 hours on the fast service. Total travel time is around 5 to 6 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Fly to Athens and take the ferry from Piraeus to Serifos. It is the most practical approach. If you are travelling with a car, the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus is the practical choice, then take the ferry from Piraeus to Serifos.
