About the Beach
Agios Nikolaos is a beautiful, remote pebble beach tucked away in a deep bay at the southwestern tip of the island. It is exceptionally well-sheltered, so the water is almost always as flat and clear as a swimming pool. Most visitors take a larger excursion boat from the harbor, which takes about thirty minutes to an hour depending on the route. There is a small canteen on the sand that provides basic drinks and snacks, but the overall vibe remains very quiet and natural. The snorkeling is fantastic along the edges of the cove where the water meets the rocky cliffs. It’s a perfect destination for a full-day trip if you want to see a wilder side of the island.
