About the Beach
Plakes is a well-maintained and picturesque stretch of fine pebbles located a bit further past the village of Vlychos. It is part of a small hotel resort, so it offers a more polished and organized experience with high-quality sunbeds and umbrellas. One of the standout features of this beach is the large wooden pier that extends into the water, which is a popular spot for sunbathing or jumping into the sea. The water is exceptionally clear and the seabed is quite rocky, so it’s a good idea to wear water shoes if you plan on wading in. There is an excellent restaurant right on the beach that serves fresh local dishes, making it an easy place to spend a very comfortable and long day by the sea. You can reach it either by a longer coastal walk or by a quick boat ride from the harbor.
