About the Beach

Mandraki is located in a protected bay that was once used as a naval stronghold, and it’s unique for being the only place on Hydra with a proper sandy shore. It’s dominated by a luxury resort, so most of the beach is organized with high-end sunbeds and umbrellas. The water is shallow and generally very warm, which makes it a favorite for families or people who prefer a softer entry into the sea. You can walk there in about fifteen minutes from the port or catch a small boat that runs back and forth. It has a more polished and social feel than the rocky coves elsewhere on the island, with a beach bar that serves food and drinks directly to your spot.
