About the Beach
Geropotamos Beach is a really cool and scenic spot located right at the mouth of a river that flows through a deep valley and under a massive bridge before it reaches the sea. The beach has a mix of sand and pebbles and the water is a beautiful deep blue color, but it can be a little bit colder than other beaches because the fresh water from the river mixes in with the salty ocean water. It is surrounded by high rocky cliffs that have big caves in them, and there is a natural stone arch in the water that looks like a bridge for fish to swim through. Because it is a bit tucked away from the main road, it feels very wild and natural, and it is the kind of place where you can spend the whole afternoon exploring the river banks or looking at the amazing rock formations that the water has carved over a long time of crashing against the shore.
