About the Beach
Peristeres Beach is a very quiet and rocky beach located on the south coast of Crete near the village of Rodakino that is perfect for people who want to get away from the crowds and see the wild side of the island. It has big pebbles and very deep blue water that feels very fresh and clean, and there are some really neat sea caves nearby that you can explore if you are a good swimmer. The name of the beach means "Pigeons" in Greek, and it is a very peaceful spot where you can hear the sound of the waves hitting the stones and nothing else. There are no big shops or noisy hotels here, just the open sea and the rugged mountains behind you, making it feel like you have discovered a special hidden corner of the island where the nature is still exactly the same as it was hundreds of years ago.
