About the Beach

Rethymno Beach is a truly massive sandy beach that starts right in the middle of the city and stretches for many kilometers along the coast with a long sidewalk full of palm trees and places to get food and drinks while you walk. Because it is so big and faces the north, the wind can make some really fun waves for jumping and splashing around, but there are lifeguards everywhere and plenty of umbrellas to keep you out of the hot sun during the middle of the day. It is a very busy and exciting place where you can go for a swim in the morning and then walk right across the street to explore the old castle or get a cold drink with your friends while watching the people go by.
