About the Beach

Schinaria Beach is a small and rugged beach on the south coast of Crete that is famous for having some of the most transparent and clear water in the entire world. When you look down from the rocks, it looks like the fish are floating in the air because the water is so clean that you can see all the way to the bottom even where it is very deep. Because the ground is made of smooth pebbles and big rocks, the water stays perfectly still and clear, which is why it is the number one spot on the island for people who love to go scuba diving or snorkeling to find octopuses and colorful sea plants. It is a very peaceful and rugged spot with just one small restaurant, so it feels like a secret club for people who really love the ocean and want to see the coolest things hiding under the waves in the Libyan Sea.
