Getting from Paros to Kythira

If you are heading to Kythira from Paros you are making your way to an island at the southern tip of the Peloponnese, caught between the Aegean and the Ionian seas with stone villages, deep gorges and a coastline of turquoise coves.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Paros to Kythira. The island is connected to Piraeus by ferry several times a week, with the trip taking around 6 to 6.5 hours. Getting to Piraeus from Paros means taking the ferry, which takes around 3 to 5 hours, making the total journey by sea a very long day. Flying is the more practical option for most travellers.

Getting there by air

Your best option

Fly to Kythira via Athens. It is the fastest and most practical approach. If you want to combine Kythira with the southern Peloponnese, the ferry from Neapoli to Kythira takes around 1 hour and is worth considering if you are already in the area.
