Getting from Aegina to Paros

If you are heading to Paros from Aegina you are making your way to the hub of the Cyclades, with one of the most beautiful small harbour villages in Greece at Naoussa, long sandy beaches on the west coast and a position at the centre of the island ferry network.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Aegina to Paros. The most practical approach is to take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus, which takes around 40 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes, and then board the Piraeus to Paros ferry, which runs up to 6 daily departures in summer. The fast catamaran covers the distance in around 2 hours 45 minutes and conventional ferries take around 4 to 5 hours. Total journey time from Aegina is around 4 to 6 hours depending on the vessel. Book ahead in July and August as this is one of the most popular routes in the Cyclades.

Getting there by air

Paros has a small airstrip but no commercial scheduled flights operate there as of 2026. The nearest commercial airport is Naxos or Mykonos. Taking the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus, the metro to Athens Airport and flying to Naxos, followed by the short ferry to Paros taking around 30 minutes, gives a total journey time of around 4 to 5 hours. The ferry from Piraeus is the more practical option for most travellers.

Your best option

Take the Saronic ferry from Aegina to Piraeus and board the Piraeus to Paros ferry. It is the most direct and practical approach. If you are travelling with a car, the conventional ferry from Piraeus takes your vehicle and delivers you directly to Parikia port in the centre of the island.
