Getting from Naxos to Kasos

If you are heading to Kasos from Naxos you are making your way to the southernmost island in the Dodecanese group. It has a maritime history that produced some of Greece's most celebrated sea captains.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Naxos to Kasos. Getting there means taking the ferry from Naxos to Piraeus and then connecting onto the Dodecanese route, or flying via Athens. The total journey by sea takes the better part of two days.

Getting there by air

Kasos has its own small airport with connections from Athens via Rhodes. Flying from Naxos to Athens takes around 45 minutes and then Athens to Rhodes takes around 1 hour and Rhodes to Kasos takes around 30 minutes. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Fly via Athens and Rhodes. It is the only realistic approach. If you are travelling with a car, take the ferry from Naxos to Piraeus and then connect to the Dodecanese ferry route to Kasos.
