Getting from Rhodes to Schinoussa

If you are heading to Schinoussa from Rhodes you are making your way to one of the Small Cyclades islands, to the northwest. It has more than 18 beaches scattered around a coastline that you can walk across in an afternoon.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Rhodes to Schinoussa. Getting there means taking the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus and then connecting via Naxos, with the ferry from Naxos to Schinoussa taking around 1 hour 20 minutes. Flying is the more practical approach for most travellers.

Getting there by air

Schinoussa has no airport. The nearest airport is Naxos, which has connections from Athens. Flying from Rhodes to Athens takes around 1 hour and then Athens to Naxos takes around 45 minutes, followed by the ferry to Schinoussa taking around 1 hour 20 minutes. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Fly to Naxos via Athens and take the ferry across to Schinoussa. It is the most practical approach. Give yourself at least two nights on Schinoussa and come with everything you need.
