Getting from Rhodes to Katerini
If you are heading to Katerini from Rhodes you are making your way to a city at the foot of Mount Olympus on the Pierian coast of northern Greece.
Take the ferry
There is no ferry from Rhodes to Katerini. It is a mainland city with no connection to the Dodecanese ferry network. Flying is the only practical option.
Getting there by air
Katerini has no airport. The nearest airport is Thessaloniki, around 70 kilometres to the north. Flying from Rhodes to Athens takes around 1 hour and then Athens to Thessaloniki takes around 55 minutes, followed by a bus or drive to Katerini taking around 1 hour. Total travel time is around 4 to 5 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.
Your best option
Fly to Thessaloniki via Athens and take the bus or drive south to Katerini. If you are travelling with a car, the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus is the practical choice, then drive north via the E75 motorway to Katerini, which takes around 6 to 7 hours from Athens.
