Getting from Rhodes to Skiathos

If you are heading to Skiathos from Rhodes you are making your way to the most cosmopolitan of the Sporades, to the northwest. It has over 60 beaches and a lively harbour town with some of the clearest water in the northern Aegean.

Take the ferry

There is no direct ferry from Rhodes to Skiathos. Getting there means taking the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus and then travelling by road to Agios Konstantinos for the Sporades ferry, which takes around 3.5 hours to Skiathos. The total journey by sea and road takes the better part of two days.

Getting there by air

Both Rhodes and Skiathos have airports. Flying from Rhodes to Athens takes around 1 hour and then Athens to Skiathos takes around 45 minutes. Total travel time is around 3 to 4 hours. In Greece, airlines do not operate direct inter island flights.

Your best option

Fly to Skiathos via Athens. It is the most practical approach and the 45 minute flight from Athens is one of the shorter domestic hops in Greece. If you are travelling with a car, the overnight ferry from Rhodes to Piraeus is the practical choice, then drive to Agios Konstantinos for the ferry to Skiathos.
